Point to Point

Saturday 3rd June 2017  - Garthorpe, LE14 2RS

To some Saturday 3rd June might mean Derby Day.  More importantly, it’s the MSSH Point-to-Point at Garthorpe!

It will be all go from flag fall:  Gates Open at 11.30am, the Pony Racing Championships start at 12.30pm then the ‘proper’ racing gets underway with the first of 7 races at 2.30pm. Our Hounds will parade before the feature race, The Cawarden-sponsored Mixed Open.

Entry is £10/head though it’s FREE to Children under 16.  Furthermore, to save queuing and receive a FREE racecard why not buy your tickets on-line via the e-ticketing service which can be found on the MHC website:

A Barrow of Booze is our fundraiser this year.  Winner takes all so why not take your chance to stock up your Drinks Cabinet and buy a ticket?  They are £1 each or £5 a strip and can be bought before the day by sending a cheque made payable to MSSH Point to Point and sent to Louise Moore, Glebe House, Osmaston, Ashbourne, DE6 1LW – please write Barrow of Booze on the back.  You will be allocated a number which will be put into the hat for the Draw on the day.

We’d like a bit of rain now but hope and pray for yet another glorious summer’s day when we can welcome a big crowd once again.

The MSSH is privileged to stage its event at Garthorpe ( or @GarthorpeRaces) nestling deep within the picturesque Leicestershire countryside, just outside Melton Mowbray. This course is one of the finest in the country for both participants and spectators.

There is fabulous viewing, acres of space and there couldn’t be a better way to spend the day with the family – children under 16 come in for FREE and so do your dogs! Bring a picnic? Or maybe you don’t want the bother? Don’t worry, there is a wide range of food produce on offer all locally supplied and there is a licensed bar too.
